Atelier MADE HERE is a tailoring cooperative. The only one in the Netherlands and one of the few in the world. This was chosen because it does justice to the makers. In the clothing industry in particular, it is very important that the makers are seen and appreciated again. Atelier MADE HERE brings the high-quality manufacturing industry back to the Netherlands to reduce the ecological footprint of clothing and increase appreciation for craftsmanship.
Made to order
Atelier MADE HERE makes slow fashion here in the Netherlands. Timeless sustainable designs from her partners for whom she works according to the made to order concept. Only making what is actually purchased and creating awareness for the craftsmanship that goes into making a garment. They make clothes to love, knowing that ‘loved clothes last‘.
Craftmanship
Atelier MADE HERE does this thanks to the efforts of professionals who come from countries where the craft of making clothing is still flourishing, such as in Syria and Iraq. The fashion industry is the second most polluting industry in the world. The need to deal with clothing differently is now very great. For example, by choosing clothing that lasts longer, made from sustainable materials and that we really love. By making clothing from residual products available in the Netherlands or from recycled material. But that requires tailoring skills that are hardly available in the Netherlands anymore.
Reduce ecological footprint
“We use our talents to deliver locally, to order, and customisation in order to reduce the ecological footprint of clothing production. We also work as sustainably as possible, by dealing very consciously with dust so that we create as little waste as possible. In addition, the textile waste that we do have goes to the textile bin for recycling. We also like to think with our clients about how they can bring a sustainable product to the market by bringing them into contact with suppliers of sustainable and recycled fabrics. Our dream is to run our machines on green energy.”
