At Pastiche you will find the best hot sauces. Inspired by the Dutch Caribbean, made in Amsterdam. The range consists of three unique hot sauces, full of tropical fruit and fiery spices.
About the maker
Founder Claude is a dreamer who always wanted to have his own business. He was born in Aruba, moved to Utrecht for his studies and eventually ended up in Amsterdam. After graduating Claude wanted to try combine three topics he was passionate about: entrepreneurship, veganism and branding. His own restaurant did not happen, but the lack of hot sauces from the Caribbean was great enough to develop ‘Pastiche hot sauces’. So far there are three delicious hot sauces of which he’s very proud.
Production process & sustainability
“The production process is very straight forward,” Claude mentions. All ingredients are placed in a large cauldron. It is cooked and with a large blender pureed by hand into a sauce. The focus lies on the quality and ratio of the ingredients. Subsequently, everything is put into bottles by hand. “Pastiche plant-based is a vegan company, which is why we are doing very well in terms of sustainability in the first place. Furthermore, we only use plastic labels on our packaging; everything else can be recycled.”
Pastiche sauces are available in three flavors:
- Seaweed Guava Lava: This recipe features the sweetness of ripe and juicy guava with the strong seafood flavor of dulse seaweed.
- Papaya Faya: a classic in the Dutch Carribean. The Papaya Faya – with papaya – is the most versatile in the collection and goes well with breakfast, lunch ánd dinner.
- Soursop Shock: The soursop fruit delivers a spicy, sour yet fruity flavor like no other fruit.
