Food for Skin stands for no-nonsense, honest skin care. Founders Cathy and Angela believe in tangible results that you can see and feel. Food for Skin is free from junk and microplastics that end up in nature and of course free from animal suffering. Full of (upcycled) natural ingredients from vegetables and plants, which bring your skin flora into a good balance. The result is fresh-looking skin. So good for you and the planet!
About the makers
Cathy and Angela are two sisters with completely different backgrounds. Cathy is a skin specialist and Angela is a brand builder. After a failed personal search for honest, 100% natural skin care, they decided to take matters into their own hands to develop a Clean & Green skin care brand based on the goodness of (residual) vegetables.
The productionprocesTogether with a professional formulator, Cathy and Angela devised the concept, tested it, developed recipes, tested it, created packaging and launched it. They purchase ingredients after careful research. For example, they use cosmetic oils that come from residual flows from a tomato sauce factory. The peels and seeds are normally thrown away, but the Food for Skin supplier now makes oils from them that they use together with other organic ingredients in the products.
At Food for Skin, everything is 100% natural, largely organic and obtained circularly where possible. The packaging is also minimal and recyclable.
Food for Skin has a big mission: “Together we clean up the beauty industry. Clean from junk ingredients and clean from nonsensical products and claims. The mission is bigger than our brand. In addition to building Food for Skin, we work on campaigns and lobbies to ‘clean’ the industry.”
