At Wool & Water you will find bow ties, ties, suspenders, mini bow tie necklaces and pins, handmade from sustainable fibers especially for you, him, her or them. It is a unique accessory label for those who like to dress eclectically and well. Although traditionally considered menswear accessories, Wool & Water’s bow ties, suspenders and ties are designed as gender-neutral pieces.

About the maker
Wool & Water was launched in 2014 and is run by Alice O’Connell, from her garden studio in Amsterdam West. Alice encourages expressing your personality through your style. “A Wool & Water bow tie is a unique outfit detail that starts a conversation and exudes a spark of humor and a touch of originality. They are knitted, creative details that provoke a second look and identify like-minded people.”

Production process & sustainability
Each piece is handmade by Alice on a hand-powered household knitting machine (circa 1979), hand seamed and carefully finished. Wool & Water pieces are knitted from sustainable fibres; fibers saved from landfill and showcasing the beautiful and varied qualities of wool, cotton and the new fiber Eco Tec (spun from recycled plastic bottles). If you take good care of them, they will last a lifetime.

Only 50 pieces of each design will be made, making each item limited edition.
